Senior Information 2018

Summer -  The photos that are put in the yearbook are made by Blount Photography. You will need to call to make an appointment (205-625-3979).  Even if you have senior portraits made by another photographer, you will need to have a formal picture made with Blount Photography for the yearbook.  There is a sitting fee for these pictures (approx $25.00)

If you plan to go to any college and haven't take the ACT,  go to to register and see test dates.

August -  Senior Class Officer Elections - Students who wish to apply for senior class officer should be prepared to give a speech in front of the senior class. Students should also be prepared to fulfill the requirements of holding office. (Class Sponsors will outline in Sr. Meeting)

October -  Graduation Supplies:  HHS uses Herff-Jones to order graduation supplies. HHS does not set prices or payment policies for these supplies.  Students are only required to order a diploma and cap/gown.  All other graduation supplies are optional. $100.00 deposit due on order date.  Herff Jones does not accept checks.

FAFSA-Begin filing FASFA free application for federal student aid.  See guidance office for details

November -  Early College Admission deadlines on Nov 1.

December -  End of First Semester - Check grades carefully.  Any course required for graduation must be made up during credit recovery. Check the web page in January for details.

Last Day of Semester-Deadline to submit pictures (baby picture and Senior Casual Picture) for Senior Magazine. Turn in to yearbook staff or to

January  - Senior Breakfast:  All parents are invited to attend our senior breakfast. Check the web page for details. Top 25 of the senior class will be announced at this time.  Students who do not follow dress code for this event may not be allowed to participate.

February - Scholarship Due Dates - Most scholarships are due during the month of February.  Scholarship information is updated regularly in the guidance office.  Seniors should visit guidance office often to get details.  Parents can contact for more details.


Work Keys Career Readiness Exam will be given to all seniors


Prom tickets purchase deadline- approx. $50.00 each (Prom usually held in March)


March Graduation supplies usually arrive sometime in March or April.  Final balance is due at the time of pick-up. Remember: Herff Jones does not accept checks.

May  -  Prepare for Graduation

All outstanding fees must be paid before graduation

Students who do not have the required credits for graduation will NOT be allowed to walk at grad ceremony.

Cap and Gown Pictures - These will be made at school during the month of May after cap and gowns have arrived.  The price of picture packages start around $20.00 and include individual pictures and a group picture. Ordering pictures is optional.

Senior Night -. All seniors are expected to attend senior night.  Any student who does not follow the dress code guideline for senior night may not be allowed to participate.

Graduation:  Will either be held on football field or school gymnasium (depending on weather).  Any student who does not follow the dress code guideline for graduation may not be allowed to participate. Graduation practice will be held at 9:00 a.m. on the morning of graduation. Any senior who fails to attend, may not be allowed to walk at graduation.
